Job Description: Medical Customer Service Representative

In this role, your main responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service in the medical field, particularly in billing and appointment coordination. You'll be verifying the status of medical claims and contacting patients to update their insurance information, ensuring claims can be processed for payment. Additionally, you'll represent our hospitals in assisting patients to understand their services and resolve any outstanding balances before they are sent to a collection agency. Your role also involves overseeing calls to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle patient inquiries regarding bills and appointment scheduling via phone.
  • Represent various hospitals during patient communication, adjusting dialogue as needed.
  • Aid patients in comprehending their medical services and resolving any outstanding balances.
  • Utilize scripts to provide payment options and access hospital databases.
  • Ensure clear and professional communication with patients and insurance companies.
  • Place outbound calls to arrange medical appointments.
  • Confirm appointment availability and coordinate with medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of appointments and billing accounts.

Requirements:

  • Previous customer service experience required, preferably in the medical sector, with a minimum of 6 months.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced proficiency in both spoken and written English.
  • Complete the F.D.C.P.A. Computer Based Training Program with a minimum score of 40.
  • Basic computer proficiency and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
